Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?
if my legs are weak and i cannot run, help me to crawl .. to do whatever it takes to reach you. when i lack passion and drive, let me look to the cross and remember the agony He endured to set me free. because agony for Christ was separation from God. in that moment, he felt the full, oppressive weight of sin.
“…darkness came over the whole land. And Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’ (which means ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’).” -Mark 15
Christ was forsaken/abandoned that we would no longer be separated from God. and here i was living my life forgetting that sacrifice.. and allowing separation from God, ignorantly refusing the blood and the love that brought reconciliation with God.
key point: LET GOD “ATTACH” HIMSELF TO YOU. LET THE HOLY SPIRIT NOT ONLY LIVE IN YOU BUT BE MADE ALIVE IN YOU.
God, I pray, let this re-realization bring life to my spirit. let it cause joy, praise, thanks to flow from my lips always. & as I sit with you, let me drown in your love because it endures…….
